Like every Fall, we are all entering the 2007--2008 school year with high expectations. Students expect to have fun, make friends, and, hopefully, do well in their classes. Parents expect that their students will have challenging courses with teachers who work hard to help them succeed. And educators expect that both students and parents will partner with them to ensure that each student’s academic potential is reached.

We each have our role to fill in order to meet these expectations, and I am confident that we are all more than up to the challenge.

To students, you are laying the groundwork for your future during these years, so do not shortchange yourselves. Your experience at Buena High School can be as good as you make it. While academics are our first priority, we have many other activities such as sports, clubs, and student government that will not only make school more fun, they will help you build the leadership skills that last a lifetime.

To BHS parents, I would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to continue taking an active role in your student’s education. Though your students are growing older, they still need your guidance and support to be successful in school. So please feel free to meet with our faculty periodically to review your student’s goals and performance.

All Buena High School teachers, counselors, and administrators are committed to providing our student body with an excellent education. By working together—parents, educators, and students—we can ensure that this year of high school meets all our expectations and that we have the best year yet!
